Fleas

A little poem done by a John Donne. Sorry it's a little late on the Valentines Day bandwagon.

Mark but this flea, and mark in this,
How little that which thou deniest me is ;
It suck'd me first, and now sucks thee,
And in this flea our two bloods mingled be.
Thou know'st that this cannot be said
A sin, nor shame, nor loss of maidenhead ;
    Yet this enjoys before it woo,
    And pamper'd swells with one blood made of two ;
    And this, alas ! is more than we would do.

O stay, three lives in one flea spare,
Where we almost, yea, more than married are.
This flea is you and I, and this
Our marriage bed, and marriage temple is.
Though parents grudge, and you, we're met,
And cloister'd in these living walls of jet.
    Though use make you apt to kill me,
    Let not to that self-murder added be,
    And sacrilege, three sins in killing three.

Cruel and sudden, hast thou since
Purpled thy nail in blood of innocence?
Wherein could this flea guilty be,
Except in that drop which it suck'd from thee?
Yet thou triumph'st, and say'st that thou
Find'st not thyself nor me the weaker now.
'Tis true ; then learn how false fears be ;
Just so much honour, when thou yield'st to me,
Will waste, as this flea's death took life from thee.

Alone in the Wilderness

I just recently saw this film a while ago, and thought I would share it with you wonderful people. Basically it's a film about Dick Proenneke, age 51 (when the film was shot), who goes into the wilderness and lives off the land for a year. It's not like "rugged individual who gets food from moss or from other strange plantlife", but it's still a really good view, so if you are an outdoors type of person with an hour to kill, or just have a lot of free time, I recommend you watch this.

Update Notice: I know it's the norm to update a blog daily,  but I will only be updating once every two days, so I can make these posts with some thought put into them.

Others

I've been messing around with a different writing style as of late. I'm more of a traditional writer, what with characters, plot, antagonists and all the other good bits. Despite that I must say that it was nice to have a change of pace for a bit. Criticism welcome.

Others

Listen to Others.
What if they won’t hear me?
Treat Others with respect.
What if they have none for me?
Be polite to Others.
What if they can’t stand me?
Be generous to Others.
What if I have nothing to give?
Do not steal from Others.
What if they have robbed me?
Do not harm Others.
What if I’m battered and bruised?
Don’t question Others.
What if I ask why?
Obey Others.
I say no.

Snow more? I don't even know her!

Before I start, I'm really, really sorry for the title.

My area of residence has been getting bombarded with storm after storm. The snow accumulation is so much that people are starting to run out of places to put it all. I remember reading something about a business hauling all the snow and dumping it into nearby water. Now I may be a person who enjoys snow, but it's gotten to a point where I just can't stand the sight of it anymore. Here's hoping to a less snow filled future.

I would have something interesting, but a day's worth of dealing with all this does not bode well with the mind.

Blog gained.

I'll be posting interesting stuff later on. Most of the posts I make will probably either life stories, my endeavors into different forms of writing, rants (because you haven't heard enough in your lives), or anything else I feel "blog worthy". But for now I should find a more suitable background.
